experience with Rocketmiles bookings?

Does anyone have any experience making a Fairmont booking via Rocketmiles?

In particular I would be interested in first-hand experience regarding:

1) Does the stay count a a qualifying stay? I assume yes, but it would be nice to know for sure.

2) Has anyone applied upgrade certs towards a booking made via Rocketmiles?

3) I assume it is no different from making bookings via other TAs in that one could pay for the room using GCs upon check-out as long as it's a refundable rate?

Yes, I booked on RocketMiles to stay at Chateau Laurier in Aug. 2014. YES to your Questions 1&2. Only bad thing is that I was disappointed with my suite, because it looked like a Grandma's bedroom from the 1930s--40s. It was a prepaid rate which normally disallowed refunds for early departures, so I had to get approval from the front desk & have RM phone them (or v.v.) to approve my refund.
