Is that before or after the 50% discount he is running right now? lol
Not really sure when the “bubble” on these types of influencers will take a dive. They repeatedly indulge while asking for some form of monetary sponsorship. It’s very “flashy,” not humble, and oblivious. |

Just noticed a Reddit thread which was universally condemning Nonstop Dan’s $1000 buying airline miles for award redemptions grift. But suspiciously three months later a bunch of positive testimonials are being made by Reddit accounts that never made any other comments. Definitely seems suspicious, is Dan now creating sockpuppet accounts?

I find this guy insufferable.

Apparently he got threatened by a purser on Kuwait Airways and physically cornered during his layover at KWI. Didn’t watch his video but somehow YT algorithm brought it up.
|
Is that mentioned in his weblog?

Then there's the laughable notion that he didn't realize Kuwait is a dry airline until he looked at the drinks menu. Some airline expert there... |
Watched just enough for the initial disclaimer, which includes "This is not a statement of fact about Kuwait Airways"
So, I guess parts, or even all, of the story were made up. |

So, I guess parts, or even all, of the story were made up. tl;dw: apparently a woman in the seat in front of him complained to the purser about his videoing and the purser when bananas on him. He eventually talked to the woman and she was cool once she realized no people were in the videos. But by then the purser got the captain all worked up and it became a 'cultural' thing. After landing he was held back for a scolding from the captain and a couple of Kuwait airline ground staff, but when actual cops came around they told him he was all good and to skedaddle. My take: mistakes were made on all sides. No value for me either as drama or as info as I was never, ever going to fly Kuwait anyway. <shrug> |
Thanks for the update. I don't plan to watch, but based on your summary -
I would be irritated if someone was filming on my fight, particularly if I'm in F. I wouldn't accept a promise that he doesn't film other people. I would also complain to the crew. I would be angry at the airline if they didn't take action. While I can accept the airline might have overreacted, this incident still seems self-inflicted. |
There's mistakes on all sides here, but damn, he had several opportunities to deescalate this situation. It's weird all around.
|
One has to presume that the intent of the trip was to record content to make fun about the dire state of the Kuwaiti F/C situation. OMAAT did a review a while ago. So people getting irritated by his actions probably made the content creators day ... ;)

But the dumbest thing he did is feel the need to brag about being a YouTuber from the jump. If he'd just said he was taking video for his Insta none of this would have ever happened. |
Based on the comments here so far I might be in the minority but I don't see anything he's done that would be acceptable to having his safety threatened? He gets on the plane first and is filming with no one there. When the purser stops him after 10 minutes saying he can't film the passengers (ON AN EMPTY PLANE) or crew, he says he hasn't and is only filming the seats, the purser is fine with it and asks for his channel. Only hours later does the purser make up the rules about no one is allowed to film without prior permission? If that were true that would have been the very first thing the purser said and the video would have ended there.
Am I going crazy or does someone filming themselves in their seat, which is closed off on all sides, really warrant this kind of reaction? Not that I film on flights, but I personally would not have been a happy customer if I got told your safety can't be guaranteed when landing. What I think seems to have happened after watching both parts of his video is that the purser ended up escalating the gravity of the situation with each version of the story he told the captain, the ground staff, and then the police. If any of it were true the police wouldn't have said nah you're all good to go.
