The KISS answer would be: because he has never taken a photo of a BA or US premium cabin international meal, but has taken photos of such meals on Singapore and Thai.

Sometimes I hate myself. I really do. Today I actually clicked on Gary's post "Don't Lose Your Global Entry Privileges by Making This One Simple Mistake." Silly me. Why, oh why, do I click on such obvious click bait?

And, on the merits, who the heck doesn't know that ALL food, including candy, has to be declared? This is news? I don't know about elsewhere, but here in DFW land the CBP folks have little beagles that go up and down sniffing for food!

Gary has been very guilty of the sensationalist click-bait headlines of late.

"You Can Get a First Class Upgrade Almost Every Time, Even If You Don’t Have Top Elite Status"
The answer? Pay for it with miles/copays or TOD purchase.

"I’ve Heard of Xenophobia, But This is Ridiculous"
For a post about how some airport lounge in Argentina doesn't have US-style power outlets.

And a lot of superlatives, like "The best this" and "The worst that" and "The only way to whatever..."

He's not the only one. It's a trend: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/exter...g-entries.html

Headline from DP caught my attention today and he made a not-insignificant revelation which he quotes as from "a source" and when a reader asked about it, he just said it was a source and wouldn't give any info or explanation... super trustworthy

Lolz

You do realize that anonymous sourcing is something journalists, e.g., at the New York Times, do all the time, right? Also at the Washington Post. Remember Deep Throat?

Just got this QUOTE from DELTA CORP btw!

"With the launch of the 2015 program and the improvements to redemption including more redemption options, we now offer the same Award availability to all SkyMiles members. Award availability for all members in 2015 is improved over the enhanced availability Medallion members and co-brand card holders had access to in 2014." - Delta CORP

You may now apologize to me.

I was partially wrong and I apologize.

FM's post this morning had an unusually strong ability to make my stomach churn: Which card is best for loading RB?

His answer was like 15 cards and basically, whichever you want. A poorly disguised card hawking if I've seen one

Thank you - truly - and I apologize for the snark and eye roll icon.

Are you saying that FFers never take photos? Or that they shouldn't? Or that discussion of photos in general isn't worthy of being published?

Not every post is going to be Pulitzer-level journalism. But someone talking about how they experience travel vis a vis photos seems reasonable to me. Especially as a FFer who takes a whole lot of photos on my trips, some of which include myself in the frame.

And, FWIW, I have a pending post about a similar topic. It is not the data-laden charts so much as poking a bit of fun at myself and the challenges of getting a camel to pose. I look forward to being featured here when that post finally goes live.

I agree with you. I do a lot of solo travel and at first I took only travel photos but then I realized if I mixed photos of myself in with the atmosphere pictures, it led to a better report. Also, there's a large discussion about privacy and the use of pictures in social media as well as larger discussions about "are you enjoying the experience if you're just photographing it?" etc. Plus you can take some great selfies.

Though if anyone endorses a selfie stick, I'm never reading that blog again :p

Big_Foot Feb 1, 2015 3:43 pm

Did you notice how many blogs went dormant?
I looked at their "our bloggers" page and most haven't posted anything
in weeks or months. Quite funny. Even some more known like the Russian
"professor" lady or a couple of other female bloggers...
Weird how garbage like those delta things is still there "posting" daily...
And a cople of "titans" are racing who's gonna post more :D

a blog isnt supposed to post what theyre posting, theyre supposed to post something else, until they actually post the 'something else', then its still wrong.. or something.. (apparently, from reading this forum sometimes.)

RFDMinnesota Feb 1, 2015 5:23 pm

I think my irrational hate for selfie sticks is the base of my complaint.
