I agree 100%. I really like kokonutz

Maybe those camera guys were just really avid travel hackers. You know, like the rest of us.

One difference between them that I appreciate is how the charity raffle is handled. In Chicago, the winning names are called and if the person isn't there, they mail the prize. Very little time is taken.

At FTU, if the number called isn't there, another number is called. This took a much longer amount of time and i felt much of my last day was wasted.

I have no issue with he raffle itself but appreciate that Chicago uses a minimal amount of meeting time.

I think trying to differentiate between the two meetings is kind of ridiculous.

One thing we can all agree on is that the winners are the bloggers who present in both

In your cynical world George, the bloggers may win, but I'll suggest the newbie wins, the experienced hacker that wants to network with friends wins, the volunteers win for giving back to the community with their contribution wins and charity wins.

Four years of consecutive sell outs seems to indicate you may again be misguided

And I'd say the best thing to do would be to post a list of winning numbers and you can check for yourself, taking no meeting time. But I know that is unlikely to ever happen.

And yet some continue to try, ignoring every time it is pointed out that the "differences" aren't actually different.

Why can I not respond to the post addressed to me? Deleting it may be thought of as I...have nothing to say. All I posted was...well, never mind.

Ok, delete this one too then.

I guess we can throw another "session" in the mix. What are the Charleston sessions?

http://first2board.com/charleston-ci...s-information/

It seems less points/miles to me and more ... I don't know how to describe it.

As one of the founders of First2Board, I can tell you that we're hosting more of an informal event that will allow people to explore the city, learn a little (only two 90 minute meeting sessions will be held) and network. Just a fun way to hang out with people who enjoy similar things - part DO part meeting.

Sounds to me exactly like a "Do" with people getting together in the same place to do something in common. :-:

Or did I miss something where a specific set of rules was laid down as to exactly what types of events must (or must not) happen when people get together for it to be called a "Do" here??

AFAIK a DO is when 5 or more FTers get together; something about that in CommunityBuzz.

There are a couple of criteria that can get a Do shifted to this new forum rather than being in CommunityBuzz, but oliver2002 can address that.

I wasn't criticizing the Charleston event, btw. There was a at the end of my prior post.

Cheers.

I am making a few comments about this new event in my blog tomorrow...Here is a teaser: "...And I see "several industry leaders" on the list to appear..."

Tickets, VIP list and Industry leaders (including a Lufthansa person)...sounds like FTU to me
