Of course it's discriminatory -- if you're a returning customer of Amex, they're not trying as hard to get one of their cards into your wallet. But if you're seen as a new customer, they want some of that wallet share that won't cut into any of their other cards. But there's nothing morally or ethically wrong with that.

Yeah, I thought the inclusion of the Chase Ink affiliate links at the end of that blog post was hilarious. It's so hard to meet that extra 5K of spend these days, lol.
