Welcome to the new External Miles and Points Resources forum.

Randy Petersen launched FlyerTalk in the late 1990s. He published Inside Flyer, a monthly magazine, and wanted to give folks a way to have an online conversation about their miles and points passions. He was a visionary to provide this site, yet probably wondered why he did so in its infancy. It took some years for it to germinate, then thrive. We are now the leading site in the world covering miles and points, and continue to enjoy strong annual growth.

There’s a real cottage industry that has grown up thanks to Randy and FlyerTalk. It’s much like a university with its surrounding high tech companies that flourish thanks to the wicked smart students who do research there. If you scan thru our Travel Tools forum, many of them were developed by FlyerTalkers based on what they identified as unmet needs here.

The miles and points world is expanding, and is being discussed many places. There has been extraordinary growth of bloggers in the past two years. There are seminars and there are events being marketed to the frequent traveler.

When there is information, FlyerTalkers want to discuss that information. This forum is for discussion of the following resources.

• Blogs focused on miles and points. Discussion is permitted on the blog but not the blogger. Discussion of the blogger and his or her character, e.g. ethics and morals, will be deleted.
• Websites focused on miles and points. There are sites in German, Swedish, and Chinese at a minimum. There are airline focused and country focused sites in English.
• Miles and points seminars
• Miles and points award shows
• Events and excursions focused on the miles community where there is benefit to the organizer, whether points, hotel rooms, or sponsorship money.

These topics already have foums and relevant content should remain within them.
