The London EDITION
I had great time at Reykjavik EDITION, so naturally I give London EDITION a try.
It was a BIG mistake.
The only good part of the stay was their restaurant, Berner's Tavern.
Starting with check in.
Check In
Check in was efficient. No issue here.
Booked their Superior King and received the same. (checking Bonvoy apps prior to check in shows that the whole range of rooms/suites are available at usual rate)
The hotel's associate did acknowledge my Ambassador status.
Apparently management decision not to give upgrades for the elites.
Room
The room was unfortunately is the main source of the issue here.
Hard product wise it was decent, although for its price its really not worth it.
The room did have quite excessive noise issue.
The plumbing did emit loud noise after those adjacent rooms using their toilet/basin/shower.
And the noise from corridor and other rooms also can be heard quite clearly.
Apparently the staff knew this but choose to put me there anyway regardless.
Service
Service was pretty standard, nothing special.
Make up room and turn down service time was very random and mosly done very late.
Dining
The Berners Tavern was great spot for dining.
Very busy place, so reservation is highly recommended (can only recommend this instead of the hotel unfortunately)
Location
The hotel did have great location. Very close to Oxford street and have couple of Tube stations nearby.
Overall
Bonvoy recognition definitely very poor here. No upgrade even though they do have availability and then put an elite into a room that they know have noise issue.
Definitely not going to return to this place.
