PE to BC
Am flying YVR to TPE in PE. Dose Eva allow a buy up to BC when checking in at the airport? If so, is it usually just the difference between the two fares, or if they are not full do they sell seats at a discounted price. I have miles but unfortunately T class is not up gradable with miles from UA

I tried it once from TPE to YYZ and it was more expensive to buy it at TPE than buying it the first time around. However I did upgrade from the basic PE to BC by paying the difference from basic PE to standard PE which then can be upgraded to BC. Then of course I used by BR points to upgrade to BC.

From asking around / my previous experience many years ago, the buy up is always the difference between the two fares. This is true whether attempting to upgrade at the airport or many days before. By the day of check-in, it's usually the delta from the full fare business class to your existing booking class, because that's the only seats left.

A friend of mine told me that he has paid around 400 from EC to business on CX from HKG to YYZ. Not sure if it's true or not but has anyone got any more information on in BR from TPE to YYZ for upgrading from PE to business class?

There is no way he got 400 upgrade on CX. Apart from the fact they dont allow upgarde from EC to bis its to ec plus
