Eva Air BR35/36 Wifi Service

Flying Eva's YYZ-TPE-YYZ BR35/36 in April. Does this aircraft have wifi? It's listed as 77W/Q as of now.

Thank you.

Can you see the Wi-Fi icon next to aircraft model under "Flight Details" in reservation? If so, there will be Wi-Fi.

Last October when I flew it it had no Wi-Fi. Things might have changed now though.

Abigail,

Just curious, when you checked, are the YYZ-TPE route equipped with WIFI yet at this point?

Thanks!

No unless it gets swapped with a 77M

You found it and not sharing? tsk tsk

I doubt BR35/36 would have wi-fi anyway
77M will probably fly the USA routes first (like LAX/SFO/JFK) before low-yield YYZ :P

I had a 77M going to TPE during the last typhoon.

I wish it had wifi but not likely to get Wifi or new plane(s) for this route anytime soon. Most YYZ's passengers aren't going to pay up for wifi as to LAX/SFO/JFK.

Keep an eye on the registration number... it will tell you which aircraft EVA has scheduled for the flight. https://www.flightradar24.com/data/flights/br35/

I was on 16717 going from YYZ to TPE in Feb and 16705 on the way back. 16717 has pay per use SMS/email. 16705 has nada, not even pay per use or satellite phone.

Bringing this back from the dead. Look like from time to time EVA does sub a 77M to BR35/BR36 route which should have Wifi onboard.

Yes, they do. BR35 YYZ TPE had Wifi for me. But not on the return.

The 77M gets subbed on this route around 10-20% of the time.

Yes, and its also 10 across in Y now and one less lav in J.

Plus and cons. Wifi has been spotty for me on this flight (which I do weekly as we have datacenters in Asia).

Only SFO and SEA and soon-YVR get the 10abreast. There are still 3 restrooms for J in all planes.

Are there specific areas where the wifi is bad? (Such as near Alaska/northern Russia) or just hit and miss everywhere? Is the speed good enough for streaming radio? Like a 64kb stream?

Also worth noting, that you can save a few bucks (10% I think) if you purchase your voucher before the flight. Something like 19.80$ instead of $22us for 24 hrs.
