Buy one get one free tickets for LHR, LGW, STN Express Trains

Time Out magazine (available from all newsstands for GBP2.50) is running a promotion for the whole of this month. In each week's magazine there is a voucher offering two Heathrow Express, Gatwick Express or Stansted Express tickets for the price of one. This can save you a lot more than the price of the magazine (and the magazine is pretty useful as a listings guide for London).

Note that the voucher is only valid for the week the magazine is on the shelves so buying a copy abroad is unlikely to work. Also, you MUST buy the ticket from the manned ticket office at LHR/LGW/STN or Paddington/Victoria/Liverpool Street Stations. The voucher will not work for tickets bought on the train, or for tickets bought from machines.

HOW TO GET THE DISCOUNT:

1. On arrival, find the branch of WHSmith (newspaper shop - look for the blue signs) in the Arrivals hall (after exiting baggage claim).

2. Buy one copy of Time Out for every two people in your group.

3. Around 3-4 pages from the back there will be 2 pages of cut-out vouchers for London attractions. One of these is for the Express trains from the airports into London.

4. Go to the airport ticket office and ask for single tickets into London. The coucher only works for single (one way) tickets, which is no loss as the price of a return is only very slightly less than the cost of a one way.

5. Read your magazine on the train and use the GBP5 per person saved to buy a couple of drinks at thhe hotel that evening.

6. On the way back to the airport, go through the same routine again, and read the magazine on your flight home.

Hope this is useful to someone.

I doubt it i'm afraid to say. This offer has been repeated for the last few years and it only runs in August when demand from the business traveller is somewhat diminished.
