I would definitely choose KRK. I do not agree that it is a lot like Prague as it has a significantly different (IMHO much more friendly) feel, and is worth seeing over a place like Berling or BUD (though both are very worth options in my opinion). Considering that you've already been to Germany I might cross off Berlin and try to decide b/w BUD and KRK. Of which I would recommend KRK. The history, and the town centre are incredible. Its the Royal capital of Poland and is one of the few (if not only) almost entirely preserved cities in Poland (most were severly dammaged during WWII).

On a side note, you'll have a great time wherever you go. Enjoy!

Krakow

On one vacation I spent 4 days each in Prague-Krakow-Berlin with a train ride day in between. Saw them in a row.

If someone could only see one of those three and never see the others, I have one recommendation and the choice is not even close.

The only pick for #1 is: Krakow. ^ ^ ^ ^ ^

Once you feel the vibes (its the Chakra point, don't cha know?) you will understand. Just don't tell everyone, we don't want it as overrun with tourists like Prague.

Thanks everyone. The flight schedule is my problem. I have been using the CSA Czech Airlines site for their schedule. It looks like BUD has the most flights (and the most cost effective as well), so my decision may be made for me. I am going to call the airline tomorrow and ask their advice on buying a tix - if I can link it with my existing award tix, etc. Really, it sounds like I can't go wrong no matter which city I choose. I wish I could do them all!

I would opt for Krakow as well. You won't be disappointed. And if you could add one day to your itinerary, you could go either to see Auschwitz concentration camp or Wieliczka salt mines. Both places worth visit as they are unique on a worldwide scale for very different reasons.
