I suspect that depends on your definition of "near" but IMO, of the official airport hotels, the Crowne Plaza is best of the bunch (please ignore the guff that gives the Radisson Edwardian this claim - i've stayed at both twice in the last 12 months and hands down it's the CP )

Smart rooms and good on-site restaurant (Simply Nico, not the one in the lobby). As always you're faced with the dilemma of transport, but if money is no object then i'm sure that can be resolved.

If you're going further afield, then there's Cliveden near Slough. Have never stayed there personally, but I understand it's gone somewhat downhill recently.

That's an excellent price and I hope you won't be disappointed.

Just for anyone wanting to score the CP & not take a gamble on priceline, it's probably always worth checking out www.holiday-inn.co.uk as from time to time this has UK sale information on it. Of late the CP has been available for 60 incl tax and breakfast for two as part of the Winter sale.

I was not disappointed w/ the CP during my stay last weekend. However, although I did get the great $57 rate for the room, I found other amenities to be very pricey. Dinner for one at the hotel buffet was $52 without alcohol, and in-room movies were ~$20 (9.99 GBP).
I do recommend The Fox and Pheasant Pub for dinner...a short walk from the hotel.
