Radisson is one of the best hotels in Brussels.
First class "Sea Grill" restaurant with 2 Michelin stars.

If money is not a matter, go for it.

Or go to:

1)Hotel Jolly at Grand Sablone is nice and not so expensive.

2)I was living in La Plaza, had the biggest room and bath I have ever seen.

I stayed at the Radisson SAS in December, and found a rate of 99 Euro, including breakfast. Hotel is nice, location is fine (although it's in a quiet commercial area)- about 8 minute walk from train station, and 4 minutes to Grand Place. For the price, this place couldn't be beat.

December in the low countries is grim. You'll have plenty of cold, gray days, where it rains sporadically (not usually a hard rain, more of a bone-chilling drizzle) -- you can easily go for a week without seeing the sun. Which of course makes the sunny days all the more pleasant.

Temperatures rarely go below 0C/32F except 1st thing in the morning on the sunny days, and the high temps will usually be around 10-15C/40-50F. Biggest surprise for many North Americans is the brevity of daylight -- sunrise isn't until about 8.30 or 9, and it will be dark by 4pm.

December is an excellent time of year to enjoy Brussels's indoor pleasures (Rodenbach beer washing down moules-frites).
