Help: Schengen 90 Day Vay Passport Expiration Dilemma (TIMITAC Check?)

I have family travelling to Norway from the USA via Amsterdam (All US Citizens) on July 8th (arrive July 9th). One of their children's passport's expires on October 17th and their current booked departure day is July 19th, exactly 90 days later. The IATA travel center says July 19th is no good, but July 18th is okay. They are trying to do an emergency renewal (or move the flights one day back, which is hugely expensive) but I'm wondering if someone can run the dates in TIMITAC to see what it says.
