7 Hours in BRU
We are flying to Crete next month. We have 7 hours in Brussels. Is it worth going into town ? I have been but it’s been years. My husband has never been. It’s morning / early afternoon on a Friday.
If we should do it then where should we have an early lunch ?

There is a train station at Brussels airport and it’s a quick train ride to Brussels Central train station, which takes just under 20 minutes. So getting into the city is fast and easy. Whether or not it’s worth it to you, is up to you. There are plenty of restaurants all over the city. If you want an early lunch, you could also pop into a coffee/teahouse and taste the famous Belgian waffles.

For an early lunch (and if you do decide to try it, I can't stress the importance of getting there as soon as you can, as there *will* be a line):
- Tonton Garby (which opens at 9:30 AM on Fridays): a 2-3 minute walk from Central. One of the best sandwiches I've had...anywhere.
If either of you are into (or are interested in trying) Belgian lambic beer, you should have plenty of time to stop by one of the following breweries:
- Cantillon (which opens at 10 AM on Fridays): a brewery; five-minute walk from Midi.
- 3 Fonteinen (which opens at noon on Fridays): a brewery; 10-minute train ride from Midi south to Lot station, then a five-minute walk from the station.
