This is quit incorrect info. The Dutch goverment has already decided that the travel ban to the Netherlands for travelers from the United States will be lifted on June 24, 2021 (00:01 am).
The number of infections in the USA is below the threshold set by the EU. With this, the test obligations and the urgent advice to quarantine for travelers from the USA will also be cancelled. Again, while European Commission has presented the European Council an updated list of countries, residents of which for whom "EU Member States should gradually lift the travel restrictions at the external borders" (https://ec.europa.eu/info/live-work-...us-pandemic_en), in practice, implementation is left up to individual countries. As of right now, the Netherlands has *not* yet added the US to its list of safe countries (see https://www.government.nl/topics/cor...safe-countries). |

Do you have an *official* source for that lifting of the entry ban for travelers from the US on June 24? Because I see nothing on any of the official government sites to this effect, either in English (government.nl, netherlandsandyou.nl) or Dutch (rijksoverheid.nl, rivm.nl, nederlandenu.nl, etc.) Nothing was said about this in the official press conference on Friday either, nor does anything appear in TIMATIC to this effect.

As of right now, the Netherlands has *not* yet added the US to its list of safe countries (see https://www.government.nl/topics/cor...safe-countries). It's also briefly mentioned on the dutch goverment site, again in dutch: https://www.rijksoverheid.nl/onderwe...de-maatregelen Scroll down and you will see: Het inreisverbod voor reizigers uit Albanië, Libanon, Noord Macedonië, Servië, Taiwan, Verenigde Staten, Hongkong en Macau wordt per 24 juni 2021 (00.01 uur) opgeheven. Hiermee zal ook de testverplichting en het dringend advies tot quarantaine voor reizigers uit deze landen en gebieden komen te vervallen. Google translate: The entry ban for travelers from Albania, Lebanon, North Macedonia, Serbia, Taiwan, United States, Hong Kong and Macau will be lifted as of June 24, 2021 (00:01 AM). This will also remove the testing obligation and the urgent advice to quarantine travelers from these countries and areas. As for TIMATIC that's almost always lagging, same with the safe countries list. They only will change/update that list close to the opening date or on the day of the opening, noticed that when doing Austria, Switzerland and Slovakia trips the last weeks. |

Found it in the official records where the Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport informs de Tweede Kamer (House of Representatives) so it's all in dutch.

Thanks for the correction. I hope some sanity around providing and recognizing proof of vaccination starts to prevail here. |
Following up to my own question and to grouchy and terrier:
Since posting my question I began communicating with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs via WhatsApp at +31 6 82388055 (see: the netherlandworldwide official govt site) Their exact language, which supports all that grouchy has said in his last few posts was "With the current entry ban, Americans are not allowed to enter for tourism, not even with a PCR test. The US will be added on to the list of safe countries as per 24th of June. If that is confirmed on the webpage, no test or quarantine will be required to travel." Great news. Very exciting. |

US has been added to the official list with the June 24th timeline. |
Any advice if traveling USA-LHR-AMS is allowed for tourism starting June 24?
I won’t be leaving airport and it’s a short 2 hour connection in LHR. Non stop flight from US are too expensive at this point for the dates I’m looking. |
COVID Test in AMS
Are there COVID tests available in AMS that one can use for a return flight to the U.S.? If not, what's the easiest option for one in Amsterdam itself prior to a return flight? Thanks!

It is 69 Euro for a rapid test though, which is quite a lot. In Amsterdam itself there are many providers, a quick google will find you dozens. These guys are everywhere in NL and an antigen test with certificate is 50 euro: https://spoedtest.nl/ |

Thank you again!
Just to confirm, both of these tests are valid for entry into the U.S.? They provide a travel certificate with all relevant data on it. |

Do you know anyone who's used the rapid test from: https://spoedtest.nl/ to return to the U.S.? I'm getting mixed messages on it. Thanks!
The spoedtest.nl one will work just fine. :-) |

You only need an antigen to go to the US, does not need to be PCR. As stated by CDC: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019...travelers.html

Sorry if this has been beat to death already, but if I am transiting AMS coming from the UK I don't need the 24-hour PCR or PCR/antigen test combo, right? The language on the government website is very confusing. I would be in transit to another EU country so would need to go through passport in AMS (not an issue as I am an EU passport holder).
