Helsinki Security

Heads up from this morning...

Anyone been through Helsinki Security this morning?

My experience with T2 fast track was that they were unpacking and checking electric toothbrushes (stayed in wash bag) and computer mice. So might be wise to take into account when packing hand luggage...

Or of course they may just have been picking on me as the early morning sport to create a nice busy queue..

Starting today (but temporarily) they are taking out all electronics with a battery from your bag. The two possible rumored reasons that have been given are that the company that runs the security checks failed a spot check or that there is a heightened security risk and the failure of spot checks is used as an excuse to increase security.

The airport website has explained this also https://www.finavia.fi/en/newsroom/2...s-hand-baggage
I'm not sure how they can call this additional work "streamlining" and how it would speed up travelling!!
Finavia streamlines the security control process in order to speed up travelling
