Well, you take up an escalator and the queue starts right there with a "15min from here" sign.. it's totally about 20m or so (with "10min" and "5min" signs) but I've never actually had to wait for security. SOF, despite being their capital airport, isn't very busy, so I'd be surprised to ever see lanes of "real" form to be forming - unless you happen to be so unlucky and a 40-people travel group just goes airside before you

That said, SOF is small, fast and easy to transfer.

I've only been once, but about ten minutes, no fast track.

My experience is that it can be somewhat more time consuming than many other airports because of the set up.

Especially if you're leaving in the early morning when a lot of the first flights for each airline leave. I'd allow 45 minutes for security + passport control.

Used to live in Sofia so flew out of SOF often. Security wait time is no more than 20 minutes max at the busiest times, with average being about 8 minutes.

There is two peaks, 5:00 to 6:00 in the morning, than 12:00-13:00
In these time frames, you may need up to 30 min. Otherwise, not more than 10 min.
