Unfortunately true...the guardian article quotes a Kurdish group taking responsibility for having launched "mortar bombs" at the airport and since the accompanying photo shows police searching the countryside at a considerable distance from the tarmac, it may be legitimate.

Shelling of an airport....I can see why the Turkish government would want to throttle this news.
