Schengen visa clarification

Hello there
I am a first time user of FlyerTalk Forum and a first time visitor to UK / Europe. I am a little confused about the Schengen visa rules. Could someone help me with the following questions please. Thanks.
I am an Indian citizen. I am planning to visit UK / Europe. I plan to visit Norway middle of April for about ten days. Then I go to UK for about ten weeks. Then I have plans to visit different countries in Europe for about 8 weeks, finishing my tour of Europe towards the end of August.
I am applying for a multiple entry Schengen visa with Norway. If they grant me a 90 day Schengen visa, can I make use of the same visa for my visit to Noraway in the middle of April and later for my visit to Europe in July-August. Can I split my tour like that?
Could I visit Romania with the same Schengen visa? Romania is not part of Schengen.
Regards,
adj1957

As you wrote, Romania is not part of Schengen so a Schengen visa has no use in Romania. The same for the UK, it is also not part of Schengen.

A 90 day visa lasts for 90 days from the date of first entry. So if you enter in the middle of April it would not still be valid in August.

Enjoy the trip

That's incorrect. While Romania is not a part of Schengen, it does accept valid double or multiple entry Schengen C visas, as well as long stay Schengen D visas.

Why on earth would you quote the entire post and write "that's incorrect" when most of the post is absolutely correct. If you find an error, quote only that error.

The OP should ignore this post by Myyra, here is the updated information for you:

The UK is not part of Schengen. You should check on the web to see if Romania accepts Schengen C Visas.

Regarding your question about arriving mid-April and lasting until August:

A 90 day visa lasts for 90 days from the date of first entry. So if you enter in the middle of April it would not still be valid in August.

Enjoy the trip

Why jump on Myyra? She was just pointing out your mistake.
Don't take it so personally.

I won't comment on your outburst. I think I was quite specific in stating that it's the advice about Schengen visas in Romania that's incorrect. The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is clear about this.

Thanks for the support, bruceba.

Actually no, she wrote that all of this was incorrect:

If she had simply quoted the one sentence about Romania, I would not have made another post. But in no way did I "jump on" someone.

Perhaps, and yes.

The short-stay double/multiple-entry Schengen visas which I most commonly encounter being used by W/C/S/E Asian tourists or business visitors are good for any 90 days in any 180 day period -- in essence expiring after six months even when good only for 90 days. But most of these are for people with at least one prior Schengen visa noted in VIS.

Seek clarification

Hello,

I am Indian citizen having long term (> 2 years) work visa for Russia and presently in Russia. I also have 6 months multiple entry valid Schengen visa.

From this link http://www.mae.ro/en/node/2040
it states "
The holders of Schengen visas with two or multiple entries, national visas or residence permits issued by Schengen Member States."

Seems I can travel without applying for Romanian visa for short durations of 4-5 days ?

Appreciate info.

Thanks,
