DFW-ONT/LAX-CDG-HEL-FCO Advice Needed Please!
I am booked on a single ticket through AA though we will be flying Air Tahiti Nui and Finnair as well.
1. For our flights from LAX-CDG-HEL-FCO, what can we expect at each of the European airports in regards to passport control / clearing customs? We have an overnight layover in LA. So my understanding is that once we check our bags at LAX we won't see them again until FCO (assuming they get checked to our final destination). We will have to go through passport control at CDG and again in HEL correct? Then we will claim our bags in FCO and clear customs?
2. Connection times.
We have 1:45 in CDG (2A -> 2D) and 1:30 in HEL. Are these doable?
This is my first post on flyertalk though I've been a long time lurker. Go easy on me. I'm happy to provide more info if needed.

Welcome to FT!
1. France, Finland and Italy are all Schengen Agreement countries. Given that CDG is your first port of entry, you will do immigration/passport control there.
You will collect your bag(s) in Rome.
2. CDG is a pain to transit, but 1:45 should be fine. HEL is easier to transit, so 1:30 will be plenty of time.
