Layover in AMS

I have to take an overnight layover in AMS to avoid being hosed on points! Any good ideas of where to stay that is reasonable and decent? We arrive at 7:40pm and leave at 8am. I have avoided AMS most of the time, been there more on trains than on planes...@:-)

Citizen M at the airport. It's a bit late to do much but you could consider checking in and training in for dinner or drinks - depends on the day though if there's much going on.

You can always get a late drink around Dam Square and have a walk around the canals. I agree that you should get a hotel at AMS and take the train in, but the train ride is only 10 or 12 minutes and they go constantly. If your flight lands at 740p you can be in the city by 900p and have a couple of hours lookaround. Just be sure you know the late-night outbound train schedule from Centraal.

Welcome to Flyertalk, fgcook
I am moving your thread to the FT Europe Forum. You might also want to check under the Airline Programs (KLM) for information.
Good luck.

^ ^ ^ on the Citizen M. Very inexpensive, right onsite at the airport, rooms nicely designed but small. You say "I" so I'm guessing you're by yourself, the room would be a little tight for 2. Really comfy bed, great big flat screen TV, free adult entertainment if you're so inclined Free WiFi, well priced drinks in the bar as well as "grab and go" food selections if you decide to skip the trip to town. Great staff.
