Hi, im planning to travel in Germany. Do i need to set the transportation, ticket and hotel reservation before applying for a schengen visa? Or is it enough i will just pass the form so i can apply for the visa?

Your reply is highly appreciated!

That depends on your nationality and your reason for travel.

For a tourist visa, yes, you will need to show ticket and hotel reservation.

You should get the visa without any problem when you show that you have permanent US residency. However, it will be a good idea to apply early so that you have time for the paperwork and an appeal if things go wrong on the first try or they request more documentation.

A purchased ticket is not required. However a reservation confirmation (both hotel and airline) may be required unless you are applying for a multiple entry business visitor visa, in which case the invitation letter from your business partners should suffice. This is of course in addition to any other personal documents that may be requested.

The above (i.e. reservation needed but not necessarily payment/ticket) is indeed representative of my experience too.
