Schengen visa application
Hi,
This is my 2nd time applying for a Schengen visa and I'm planning to leave for Luxembourg and France on July 28th. I'm staying in Luxembourg for 2 nights and France for 10 nights. Luxembourg will be my port of entry and departure.
I know that I'm "supposed" to apply at the French consulate but their appointment slots are booked all the way till August. I called them and they mentioned I can "try" to apply at the Luxembourg consulate since it is my port of entry and I already booked an appointment with the Luxembourg consulate for next Monday.
Is it likely that the consulate will reject processing my application? Or would it be possible that I can convince them that its not unreasonable since Lux is my entry point and that the French consulate is booked?
Thanks,
John

THe rule of thumb is to apply for the visa at the Schengen State which is you main destination. An alternative is to apply at the Schengen state which is your port of entry. So you shouldn't have any trouble at the Luxembourg consulate.
