Timing of bid acceptance
Hi guys,
I am totally new to this world, but I was wondering if it has ever happened that Etihad accepted a bid for an upgrade to business class way before the flight itself? Or are those confirmations only sent a few hours/days before the flight, regardless. I am asking because Im trying to understand what the added value of bidding way in advance from the flight would be (and if I shouldve refrained from bidding three months in advance).
I also read in other forums that someone in particular received a confirmation almost instantaneously (maybe the offer was somehow good), but I could not find anything here, which seems full of experts :-)

I notice that their website seems to clarify the question, as it says your offer can be accepted at any time after your booking, so probably there must be cases where this can happen a few days after already, without having to wait the last moment
Probably depending on how empty the cabin is, they may secure some seats way in advance

Is usually 24-48 hours out from the flight and as yours is in October you've got quite the wait sorry. Hope I am proven wrong and you get something sooner

All of my successful bids have been given within just a few hours of the flight, some as I was checking in and others as I was boarding and was given a new boarding pass with the upgrade upon boarding, in each case I find out when I get an SMS that my card has been charged, before I ever hear anything from Etihad..
