I am totally new to this world, but I was wondering if it has ever happened that Etihad accepted a bid for an upgrade to business class way before the flight itself? Or are those confirmations only sent a few hours/days before the flight, regardless. I am asking because I’m trying to understand what the added value of bidding way in advance from the flight would be (and if I should’ve refrained from bidding three months in advance).

I also read in other forums that someone in particular received a confirmation almost instantaneously (maybe the offer was somehow good), but I could not find anything here, which seems full of experts :-)
