This is one of the reasons why I prefer NOT booking on airline websites that have these stupid need to show the CC used to booking at check in rules. Just book using any of the OTAs like you did or use travel agent. No need to show anything.

OP here... ...reporting!

So my Mom is here in the US and here's what happened when she checked-in at Mumbai. The agent saw the printout of the travel itinerary, looked up her reservation on the computer and asked her if she had any credit card authorization documents. As I had instructed my Mom, she asked him why would they be required if the ticket was purchased through a travel agent (travelocity.com). He said, "Okay", and that was the end of the conversation!!!

Thanks for keeping us updated!

His question was "out of habit" and it's one of the usual questions at the station and pax are always asked. Your mom's reply corrected him and hence his "Okay"

I would say Etihad wouldn't care how a pax paid the TA. Cash in person or Credit Card or Debit or heck even maybe the TA is returning a favor or whatever. Etihad already received the money from the TA and that's it.

Glad your mom had a safe trip ^

they won't ask your mom for the credit card or any auth letter, She would have needed it if you had purchased the ticket from EY directly not when you used a Travelocity.com...
