New flight to be announced to Scotland next week ??

Rumours all over the place of a new direct route probably with Etihad to Scotland to be announced next week, coinciding with a visit to the region by Scotlands First Minister.
My guess is a daily Etihad A330 to EDI rather than GLA (EK)
Any news ?

Well, Etihad do seem to be investing quite a lot in the UK at the moment:

Euro call centre in Manchester
One of the LHR flights to use the larger B77W
Stated intentions to make MAN 4 daily within 5 years

So, EDI could well fit the profile....

I know this thread is almost a year old, but I've just heard from my Emirates chauffeur driver that the company has quoted for Etihad business out of Edinburgh. Maybe an indication that something's on the cards.

Glasgow in summer of 2015 is the latest rumour doing the rounds.

Again, Emirates chauffeur driver as the source, but backed up to an extent by EK staff at GLA who had also heard the rumour.
