new lounge iah
I was flying EK IAH-DXB this week and was sent to a new Lounge opp. D5. it was an exclusive lounge built for EK, qatar & i think some euro carrier.I didnt see a post about the new IAH lounge, unless somebody mentioned it with a different title, so thought i will post a brief review.
it was a blandly designed lounge, sparsely furnished, but had the essentials. a basic selection of s'wiches, appetisers & desserts and a full bar. which is much better compared to the chips & crackers u get at the earlier used Presidents club. free wifi rounded it off for me, when it came time for the flight i just had to open the door and walk across 15 yards to the EK gate at D5.
wonder how long this has been open, the lounge lady said she had been there only a few weeks.

It opened on March 31. Lufthansa and Singapore Airlines share the lounge along with Emirates and Qatar Airways.
Future plans for Terminal D include a new concourse which will allow Emirates to have its own dedicated lounge at IAH. That's a few years down the road, however.
