Skywards Silver question

All,

I am a skywards silver member. If I travel from Houston to Dubai in economy, I get around 10,192 miles including the bonus for silver members. If I book online, EK gives an additional 20% mileage. Will I get both bonuses (Skywards silver bonus and online bonus)? Or just one?

Yup correct. Bear in mind that these miles do not go to your status miles (Skywards calls them "tier miles")..

I became silver on a F flight between LHR and DXB. I then travelled 30 hrs later to Sydney in F
I didnt get any silver bonus for the DXBSYD
it happened last time I turned gold with 24 hrs inbetween. the webiste doesnt ahve the capacity to backdate the bonuses.
when I just called the girl tried to tell me that I only get one or the other!
I do understand that if you purchase a ticket on their website you get double miles and with the global bonus you get triple in J and F.
I also understand that you can only get the highest bonus not both.
but to tell me point blank that I am not entitled to silver bonus- rediculous!

where do they train these people the corn flakes factory??

Would send an email with the exact details to Skywards. They have been not so bad in responding in a positive manner.

yes I sent 3 emails to skywards customer service before actually calling the melbourne skywards yesterday.
I called again today and got an guy called Giresh. he reitterated that I would Not get the silver points as it takes 48 hrs for the program to bank the miles and therefore I would not be silver before I landed in sydney so therefore I would not get the miles
I asked once again for a supervisor to call me.
as I went thru this a couple of years ago as gold and finally they credited the miles.
What I find amazing is that a lot of people would just let it go and accept this explanation. the guy was just so convincing.
I wont be putting any numbers in any bookings anymore and will be asking for the credit one flight at a time. my next 2 flights will put me to gold in DXB-otherwise I will loose the gold bonus too.
I suggest anyone making tier in one go do the same.

Still have not received followup call from supervisors in melbourne but did today receive an email from DXB with confirmation of my silver pts.
I definitely wont be putting my number in my next booking I really cant be bothered with the inefficiency of the melb office and their lack of knowledge.
the instantaneous credit of pts after the flight is much more reliable when changing status during flights.

To be sure I understand correctly.

Are you saying when you book flights, dont include your skywards number in the booking, and as soon as you land call Emirates and have them manually add the miles for the trip?

If my understanding is correct, would manually adding the miles, immediately result in getting to the next tier assuming you qualified with enough miles?

-no not quite correct-
if you go online and add the sectors till the next tier-
then once the account turns silver or gold add the rest of the flights you will get the correct tier miles.
the supervisor finally called me friday and apologised that I was given the wrong info- i said yes by 2 people!!
I suggested they train their reps better so that they give the correct info.
