Automated Window Shade
Anyone seen them yet?
Flew on the LR today that had it. Love it.
You can lower the blinds only or block out the whole window.
Is this an option being delivered from now on, and are older aircraft going to be refurbished with this gadget? ^

These things are brilliant. ^ Had them for the first time on my last DXB-LHR flight, and spent the first five or so minutes on the ground playing with them - probably looked like a complete moron, but I was tickled pink.
That was in J, on a 77W equipped with F suites and J lie-flats.

We flew EK2/EK1 in F (A380) LHR-DXB-LHR last month, with automatic shades on the outbound but not on the inbound (A6-EDA). I asked the FA about this.
His reply: "yes, we are testing them on our delta model (EDD?), and if the testing is favourable, the remaining A380 orders will include automatic shades in the premium cabins".
