Name in passport

Name in passport
Hello,
I am new to fly with EK and I have a question about a flight a friend and I will take from DUS to CPT via DXB.
The name of my friend in his passport is for example:
Peter Jannes (Fore names) Zadelhof(Family name).
When the booking was made online, he filled in the from with Peter Jannes. There was een error because the Emirates website only accept one name. He used Jannes as the name in the booking because that is the name he uses in real life, and Peter is a part of his baptismal name.
So, there is a part of the name missing in his ticket. In this case his first name of his Fore name.
The question is. Will he be accepted at the airport by the EK staff and/or customs in DUS/DXB/CPT? Or is it going to be a problem, and we have to cancel the ticket (Q class) and book a new one?

As a former travel agent I can tell you that names on passports are tricky things , every airline and country treats the matter in their own way , so rather than relying on well meant but possibly incorrect advice from a public forum (someone may give you advice that worked for their airline and routing but not necessarily for you ) my advice to you and your friend would be to deal directly with EK - ensure that you always make a record of who you speak to , and if possible get their email address so that you can ask them to confirm what was discussed/agreed to (though usually they will not give out their individual email address so you may have to settle for a generic one which makes it even more important to get their name ) .
Most airlines are quite used to pax having mix ups with first /middle/last names and I would think that it is likely that once proof is provided that it is a genuine error rather than trying to change the name to a completely different pax they will correct it for you , though there may be a fee .
Incidentally , just to help with clarity , in English usage "surname" actually means "last name"

Forenames Peter Jannes
Family Name ZADELHOF
in any communication

My uncle's TA booked him on Emirates and put the surname wrong (the first letter: instead of E, it was put as A).
Emirates didn't allow for the change, but at the airport they were ok and didn't cause him any troubles.
We had to call skywards to 'manually' add his skywards number; they told us there's a chance the miles won't credit (but they eventually did).
I know this is different from your friend's case, but still this is the closest thing that happened with us.

I had massive trouble in the past because my name and my address contain a couple of "Umlauts". What I found out is that - no offence intended - travel agents and the help line ppl make an issue out of that whereas the counter ppl, GA and immigration authorities don't really give bananas.
They have a lot of experience with things like that and usually deal with that quite pragmatic and with no hassle for the passenger.

I remember an immigration officer in DXB asking me if "MR" on my boarding pass meant "Mister" as "MR" wasn't a part of my name in my passport.
I am clearly male, so therefore I am a "mister".

If you have a double name (eg. Peter Jannes), the easiest solution is to enter them without a space or seperation (eg. PeterJannes). That way all systems will read it as a single name, but will also include all relevent elements.

According to BA it partly depends on the destination. My travel agent once booked my ticket from Muscat to London in the name of Mr. Steve (they missed my family name) which caused a bit of trouble at the airport, but they eventually let me go. Recently however I booked a ticket to Rio and the first name on my ticket was Steve instead of Steven as in my passport. When I mentioned it to BA they said that for North and South America they can be very strict and recommended that I change it. It cost me 30 but wasn't worth the risk of being turned away.
