Welcome to FlyerTalk and to the EK Forum, jhinkchak!
1. Have you selected a seat on the A380? If you're travelling solo, choose a middle seat on the aisle for aisle access. Go to www.seatguru.com
2) 1 hour connection in Dubai isn't really much...about enough time for the aircraft to land, taxi, park at the gate, deplane and go to the gate for JFK. You might have time for a cup of coffee along the way but don't expect to do any shopping (if you do have time, then it's a bonus)
3) If your BLR-DXB is delayed then you will automatically be taken care of (possibly rebooked on the next flight to JFK). However, your flight is part of the wave that arrives in time for the European/North American departure bank so EK does try to make sure the flights are on time. So if you miss your A380, then many will be in the same situation.
Just don't be worried-just show up at BLR Airport on time with the necessary documents on hand and leave the rest to God. Enjoy the Big Apple and the Big Bus!

Simply go ur Emirates website and then on
Plan & Book
and then on
Manage your booking
Enter you reference number that you should have received with ur booking and ur last name. In the following screen you should be able to see "seat request".. There you can choose a seat!

IIRC-If you book via a travel agent, you cannot select your seat on EK website unless you check in 24 hours before. If you book on Emirates, you choose your seat straight awya.
To Pickle1This is the Emirates Skywards Forum-related to Emirates only. If you have any queries about IB then you should go post in the Other European Airlines Forum where more people will be able to help you. And yes, Iberia will feed you on the NYC-MAD service, although food isn't that great from what I hear, especially in Economy.

if your ticket is BLR-DXB-JFK, you will be fine; piece concept will apply. you should be entitled to 2 x 23kg, however, for a fee, i think, of $50 per piece, you can increase the allowance to 32kg. no luggage over 32kg will be accepted at BLR or JFK, especially because of strict DXB baggage movement rules, etc.
the 20kg appears because if you book BLR-DXB-BLR, weight concept would apply with 20kg in Y, 30kg in J and 40kg in F.
but dont worry, you appear to be entitled to piece concept anyways!
