Seating query on EK 773'S

Hi,
First post so be gentle:P
Spent the last day reading through this subforum and seatexpert and seatguru.

My wife and I are booked EK from MEL to DXB (via SIN) and then on to MAN

I was with my poor travel agent who was trying her best to deal with Emirates over the phone to reserve seats. It seemed a lot harder than it needed to be. I've hurt my left knee a bit (nothing serious)last week and I'm 6"1 so was after a H (or D) seat. I also made a play for row 47 seats.

Apparently 46/47 A/B/J/K are reserved for Wheelchair passengers and not bookable over the phone.

This is what I ended up with:

6th Sept EK405 773 26A&B (Flight allegedly completely pre-booked, can't even move me to B&C !)
7th Sept EK17 773ER 49A&B
1st Oct EK106 773ER 38B&C
2nd Oct EK404 773 24J&H

Apparently according to EK the last two flights are both bulkhead seat allocations. This is different to seatexpert/guru's seating plans all rows are out by 1.

I'm a little worried about the row 49 allocation. Does that mean they wont recline.

Any thoughts/opinions before I fly out in 20hours or so?

Thanks in advance

Nick

I'm sure that row 49 does recline, so I wouldn't worry about it

Rows 38 B&C on EK106 and 24J&H on EK404 are not bulkhead seats, at least that's what it says on Emirates.com. You can check/change your seating on their website at this link :
https://fly.emirates.com/MYB/MMBLogin.aspx
However, this function has been on/off for the past days so be patient. You can also see which seats are exit/bulkheads, etc here too:
http://www.emirates.com/english/flyi...ce_finder.aspx

What you can do is try to request for the exit row seats when you check-in at the airport. It would help if you had somekind of medical certificate to say you've injured your knee and need more space for your legs to stretch.

Thanks,

According to here or here 49A is the toilet.. 49 is only D-G. I know the tickets were cheap but that's taking it a bit far

As for changing the seats, I've been getting a partial schematic of an A380 and the "unable to process your request due to a technical problem" spiel for the past 2 days.

IIRC exit row seats are held back so that they can be given to pax who can help cabin crew in case of emergency, having a medical certificate is likely to preclude the OP from getting seated there.

(my previous post from a few hours ago doesn't appear to have materialized)

Yeah, my knee is not incapacitating me in anyway, its just clicking a bit, so more annoying and a bit sore, just don't fancy it been cramped for 15hrs..
I guess I'll get the lie of the land tomorrow. I'll get to the check in early and see how I go.
When I get back I'll update with whether Emirates reservations or seatguru had the right seat designations.

According to seatguru, 49A is the Lav as 49 starts at D and ends at G. I know the tickets were cheap but that's ridiculous :P. The Emirates site does show 49 as the last row in from of the toilet though.

I've tried the trick of changing my seats online, however the Emirates site hasn't let me for the last 24 hours.
It keeps popping up part of a A380 floorplan and stops with the "unable to process your request due to a technical problem" error.
