Hi everybody,
I achieved Gold level in 2006 and also retained it in 2007. But my memebership card only shows that it is valid until 02/2009.
Isn't it supposed to be until the 02/2010?
Got more than 50.000 Miles in 2006:
Gold until the end of calendar year 2006 + 14 months = 02/2008
More than 50.000 miles in 2007:
Did that bring only an additional 14 months until 02/2009? Isn't that supposed to be Gold level until the end of 2009 + 14 months = 02/2010?
Anyone knows?
Ben

No, hitting 50K points does not extend your gold membership, it just retains it for another calendar year (plus 2 months for some reason).
So if you get 50K points this year, you'd get gold until 02/2010.
Cheers,
Rick

Okay, so the biggest advantage I would have is to wait until 2009 and do the 50.000 miles in March, because my Gold membership is then not valid anymore, but since I reach it again it would be a new one and valid until the end of 2009 + 14 months (i.e. 02/2011)?

Well, in business I fly premium, but on private occasions I fly Eco and then the Gold status has a lot benefits...

There is no doubt Skywards Gold tier has a great value when compared to other programs. I was just referring to the benefits that exceeded those when flying in premium on EK.
As matter in fact, I had started a tribute thread to Skywards
