A few questions

I'm a Skywards silver member. Somehow I still don't have a card, it must ve sent but probably got lost in the mail. Can I order a new card online?

Also, is it possible to use miles to upgrade one-way? (DXB-LHR) I understand this can be done but only at check in or on board.

No, you can get a one way confirmed upgrade at any time before the flight. Its actually $50 if you do it within a certain time.

Expect the silver card/package within few weeks.

For one way upgrades you can do that at any time, never had to pay the $50 (I think it refers to blue skywards for a reward return ticket).

No, you get charged $50 if you upgrade at Check-In or within 7 days. Something like that.

You can also print a temporary membership card from Skywards website (after login) under "My Account==>My Profile". It will be the same color as your status

Instant upgrade is available free of charge to blue, silver and gold skywards members. Requesting an upgrade at the airport/aboard is only valid for the flight segment to be taken (not subsequent flights) and hence will cost more miles in a multuple leg journey.

Generally you should not pay a penny more, unless there is difference in airport taxes (it happened to me several times).

I am not sure where you got that $50 from. Get your info right jetsetkiwi. Oh that's right you're still a skysurfer :P

Perhaps it is a skysurfers only thing, but please dont mock me because of my age.

Quote from SkySurfers website under Reward Rules

11. An application for a Reward ticket may be made at any time but a service fee of:
US$ 75 per ticket/passenger will be charged if the Member requests the Reward to be issued on the same day as the request; or
US$ 50 per ticket/passenger will be charged if the Member travels within seven days of the booking.

Did not mean to mock you

I recall similar rules with skywards, perhaps 5 years ago. But I think it might have changed since they implemented the instant upgrade feature.

A "reward ticket" is not the same as an "upgrade".

The $50 applies to bookings fully ticketed with miles. No fee applies when upgrading an existing (paid) ticket.

Ah, alright. Thanks nzchick for the clarification on that.
