Post Oversold Flight Vs. Empty Flight, What to Do???

Hello All,

I am currently booked on EK212 for March 25th which departs at 11:15pm JFK-HAM-DXB. EK202 departs at 11pm and is nonstop JFK-DXB. My dilemna now is that I called Emirates support center and she said that the number of tickets sold on EK212 is 209 and available seats are 204. On EK202, only 85 seats sold out of 300.

Now here is my question. Should I keep my booking on the oversold JFK-HAM-DXB and then at the airport try to negotiate by giving up my seat on the oversold flight and try to score a business class seat on the JFK-DXB flight as I am flying economy class. Thanks so much!
