Power Supply Points in Y Class

I'm travelling JFK-DXB on the 19th of Dec (tomorrow) and I wanted to know if Emirates has power points in economy because I wanted to take my laptop along and get some work done.

Any help would be appreciated!

They don't have seat power points in economy. However, there are charging points in the galley, so you can leave your laptop charging while you have your meal.

Cheers,
Rick

I was on one 777 fromm KWI-DXB in Y earlier this year and it did have power in the seat (three prong UK style) The plane appeared to me to be very very new.

If you are on EK202 or EK204 you will have power points in Y as these flights are operated by the newer B77W that feature the latest Y class Emirates product which includes individual power plugs.

More confusion

AFAIK:

The F-suite style 77W and the 77L have them. Not sure about the lie-flat J (non suite) 77Ws but I will check on my next trip.

Indeed it is !

Basically all the B77W's that feature the new Y class Weber seat have in seat power plugs. So this is A6-EBQ onwards. Then of course all 77L's and subsequently all old aircraft that have recently been refurbished - ie. the B773s which so far is only A6-EMM and A6-EMU.

The majority of B772s don't have new Y class Weber seats. They will get new Y class seats when they get refurbished again in 2008/9 to bring them in-line with the 77L config. I believe only 772s with new Y product are A6-EMK and A6-EML which were the last planes to get refurbed in that sub-fleet.
