Flying Emirates First Time

Hi Folks,

There seems to be a great pool of info available here and I’ve learnt a thing or two!

It's my first time flying Emirates

I would really appreciate some assistance,

I’m flying Economy EK…

Outbound:

Friday April 13 Manchester > Dubai (EK018 – 77W-JY)

Friday April 13 Dubai > Lahore (EK624 – 77W-JY)

Inbound:

Friday May 11 Lahore > Dubai (EK623 – 772-JY)

Friday May 11 Dubai > Manchester (EK017 – 77W-JY)

1) What seats do you recommend? I don’t link exit seats as much because of the side tray pull out and prefer to have a window seat, maybe near the wing?

2) I have a Skywards membership, when can I select the seats, is it tied into the online check in 12 hours in advance? I purchased the tickets from a local travel agent.

3) Which one of the above flights do you think will have the ICE system?

What was your first time like?

Thanks in advance,

Imran

Avoid any seats just behind the exit/bulkhead row, as these tend to have reduced space under the seat in front due the the IFE equipment being in the armrest of the row in front.

You can select your seats anytime by phoning the local Emirates office (Manchester I assume in your case).

All your flights will have ICE (assuming there are no changes to aircraft).

This is an important advise, and it is true for more or less all of EKs aircrafts: the row behind bulkhead is hell for people with long legs!

Indeed, I phoned Emirates yesterday to book some seats only to be told I'd been pre-allocated 9H on the 77W (which is the second row of Y class). They changed it 12H outwards and 10H on the return.

I think they must put Golds as far forward as possible, which normally means you end up just behind the bulkhead row.

Cheers,
Rick

Sorry for the late reply,

They’ve allocated:

EK018 (777-300ER) – 15K
EK624 (777-300ER) – 10K

Thanks for all your help guys… ^

I was pondering if it’s worth sitting near to the wing?
