Lounge access with Mixed classes

Hi, I am interested to know if I would be allowed to use the business class lounge during transit if I finished my business class on a sector and continuing economy. I am flying srilankan from south asia to europe. From Southasia to Colombo, I have upgraded using my miles to business. But from colombo I continue on economy. Any ideas if I can use business class lounge in colombo?

Also another question, can I take a friend of mine flying in economy to the business class lounge in colombo if I alone am flying business? I know Skywards silver members are allowed to do this. Not sure about business class flyers. Thanks for answers.

Hi, can't answer this one fully but just give you my limited experience - namely, I flew MEL-MAN with the MEL-DXB leg in F and then the DXB leg in J.[NB: the F leg was an upgrade and the DXB-MAN service is a 2-class aircraft]. Whilst in transit at DXB for c3hrs I was still allowed to use the First Class Lounge, even though my ticket out of DXB was just business class.

I don't believe it is formally allowed. However, they are plenty of experiences of people on this forum when they have just gone up to the lounge (F for onwards J pax and J for onward Y pax) and shown the arrival / onward boarding passes to be granted entry

Cheers

Cool. Thanks for that info. Another thing. Does anyone know if Srilankan give invitations to lounges at the time of checkin, while leaving from Indian destinations? May be will try my luck at check in.
