EK & Virgin Blue

Has anyone heard of a partnership between EK and Virgin Blue in Australia?

EK uses Virgin as its domestic partner which is quite apt I must say. Both carriers have THE narrowest seats is the industry! Further the irony of an advertised premium carrier and a low cost budget carrier doesn't seem to gel.

Given EK competes with QF and that is the only other realistic choice of domestic Australia partner it is no surprise.

Another reason

Qantas also codeshares with Gulf Air and GF also uses QF as it's Australian domestic partner.

Gulf Air operates Bahrain, Dubai, Beirut and Athens on behalf of Qantas.

Still no, however it is rumoured that Virgin Blue program is to be revamped soon.

Has anyone been able to get DJ miles credited automatically for EK flights? I have never been able to, always through a manual credit - despite by DJ number coming up printed on my EK boarding pass.

Think the program has been revamped with a tier system now in place...

...i can understand this for EK with them squeezing an extra seat per row into a 777 but DJ operates a single aircraft type, 737 in 3-3 config which I imagine is the same in Y for every 737 operator the world over....are you suggesting they have an extra wide aisle??? I know I'd far rather travel on any of DJ's planes than some of QF's rattly old 737-400s.
