Exit Seats

We've travelled to Sydney and used both economy and business class (upgraded using miles). We're due to fly back on 7 July and are travelling economy from Sydney to Dubai. How can we guarantee that we get the exit seats on this leg. We checked in 5 hours early on the way out and these had apparently gone. We've both Silver member soon to be gold. We have seats allocated, if we check in online, can we change the allocated seats to exit.

Exit Seats are allocated at station check in. No way of getting pre-assignment. On the DXB -> MAN flight on Monday the loads were light enough that people could move around. Have you checked the loads on the DXB -> UK flight as you might be able to nab em if you're near enough to them and the loads are light enough.

HI
I think you will find that no matter what your departure point is exit row seat's can only be allocated at check in due to the fact that you must be able to assist the crew in opening the exit in an emergancy. Some airlines will pre allocate you these seats, or charge you ahead of time, to reserve them BUT the check in staff still have to assess that you are fit and able to assist them. Not sure if you get your money back if not !!!
Your best bet is to be the first at check in when it opens and ask...

sorry, there doesn't seem to be anyway to guarantee that you will receive exit row seating. However, checking in early will give you the highest chances.

Cheers

I travelled on EK 773 SIN-BNE-SIN Y Class, outbound in the exit and inbound in one of the two seats towards the back and I found the two-seaters so much more comfortable. The exit seats on EK seems to be a lot narrower than the normal seats which make it so much less comfortable.
