Advance Seating

Hi,
I just booked a JFK-DXB-LHE-DXB-JFK flight. I couldn't book it online from emirates.com so I had to do it from one of the travel websites. The travel website(Expedia) did not have an option for entering my Skywards number so I'm guessing they won't even consider my preference for an aisle seat.

I wanted to know if there is someway I can specify the seat number I want beforehand. Hopefully I can get the bulkhead seat like that.

Thanks!

yes you can phone any EK office. If you have the seatmap in front of you, you can say "Is seat XXX available" and they will usually respond with yes or no.

Cheers

Just called them up and got 16 D for JFK-DXB-JFK. They're not allowed to reserve bulkhead seats so this seemed like the next best thing.

Thanks for your help!

I couldn't reserver blukhead seats either. The lady on the cs line told me that they are kept open for mothers with babies. However after I told her I am very tall (6'4''), she said she will add a note to either assign me a bulkhead or emergency exit seat at the gate. Maybe you want to try that as well.

That's a good idea. I went for the safer option though. The seat I booked (16D) is the one that has only 3 seats infront of it instead of the regular 4 so I get a little bit of extra leg space...not near as much as the bulkhead or emergency ones but somethings better than nothing.

Hopefully all our efforts for a good seat will go to waste and we'll get upgraded to business class

Since you mentioned upgrading... here is a tip: Show up at the airport as late as possible. If you come too late (I believe it's 1hr before departure) they cancel your seat, so don't do that. But you are much more likely to get upgraded after EK has filled Y class, Since you have a pre reserved seat - you've got nothing to loose by checking in late

Cheers

Thanks for the tip. I am also hoping for an upgrade to C on my flight FRA-DXB. I will try that as well. Do you have any other tips on how to approach the GA's on this issue?
