EK chauffeur drive question

For an upcoming Emirates business class flight I intend to use the chauffeur drive I have a couple of questions:

1. Am I eligible for the chauffeur service as I am on a reward booking?
2. I am travelling with a couple of friends who are on the same flight, will it be ok for them to share the chauffeur service with me?
3. I am flying LGW-MUS, MUS-DXB, DXB-LHR, can I use the chauffeur drive for the departure or the arrival? (have I a choice or can I use both?)

Many thanks for any advice,

heggers

1. Yes
2. Yes. You can only order as many cars as there are passengers though.
3. Not sure what city MUS is. You can use the car on arrival and departure in DXB and arrival in LHR.

Cheers

2. They are in economy though, is this still ok?
3. Meant MCT, so I can use the car to LGW, from and to MCT, from and to DXB, and from LHR? Thats a brilliant service

As far as I'm aware, there's no chauffeur service in Muscat.

We did a five day Muscat stopover in March 05 an the way back to London from Sydney in F and had to use the hotel's limo service.

I just checked Emirates.com and that still seems to be the case.
...which I find a little odd.

I wonder what the criteria are when deciding which cities get the chauffeur service.

Here's a link to the Chauffeur drive page on the Emirates site:
http://www.emirates.com/uk/Traveller...eAvailable.asp

Also, interestingly, there's no chauffeur service in Bangkok.

Sadiq.....!!

...Did you REALLY just get an Emirates question wrong???
I never thought we'd see this day!
Hehehehe.

And Heggers, is your trip to Muscat business or pleasure?
...and where are you staying?

I must say that Muscat has got to be the most beautiful city I have ever had the pleasure of visiting.

This definately is odd because I remember booking a limo in Muscat for my parents just a week ago

Anyways thanks for finding that error, it has been fixed in the above post.

Cheers

Spin, this visit to Muscat is for pleasure .

I'm still not sure which hotel to stay in, have rooms in the Sheraton held on a very good rate but still not decided.

I also have been looking at the new Shangri La although this seems well out of the city which I'd prefer to be at least a taxi ride away.

Any recommendations on what hotel which is not too far from the city and is reasonable cost? i.e. less than $250 USD a night inc taxes

We stayed at the Al Bustan Palace (Intercontinental) which was lovely. The huge foyer atrium is unbelievable. Quite a family hotel though with lots of young children around the pool.
The other main place I would recommend if it's affordable, and more importantly available is The Chedi. We didn't stay there but we did go there for a look and it really is beautiful.

The Hyatt on the beach is pretty good too. And prob a bit cheaper than either of the other options.

...make sure you take a trip to the fish market!!

DO NOT stay at the new Shangri La unless you like vacationing at a construction site!! We just stayed at a small dive center near it and although it looks like the Shangri La WILL be great, it is definetely not the place to go now. If you like a simple hotel, check out the Oman Dive Center. We paid 52 Euros/per person per night on a demi pension basis. Each of the twenty or so bungalows are directly on the beach (we were less that 10 m from the water) and we loved it! We are divers though and weren't looking for a fancy huge hotel. We loved, loved, loved Oman!
