Plane upgrades

Looking at flying Emirates First or Business class. But it appears they have very wide inconsistant standards when it comes to fleet upgrades. For example the A340-500 has the new Business class sleeper seats and First suites - but it appears the rest of the other fleet dont - and there is no indication of any upgrade programme on the site. Is Emirates attitude "to stand still". I have flown before but in the old B/C seats and while good both me and times have moved on - specially given the prices charged.
Any ideas of upgrade plans????
I can go a direct flight (A340-5) but also for an airline they charge a premium for a one stop to Europe and a cheaper two stop (on old plane via Singapore) whereas all other airlines for the same price are one stop already- hardly an appearance to trying to compete.

EK are in the midst of upgrading their fleet right now...

The B777-200's have flat bed seats in First and so will the B777-300's too. For J, the A340 J is not much better than the 777-200 J class with the exception of the privacy shell thing.

By the end of the year, the A340-500/B777-300/B777-200 ( a good chunk of their fleet) will have the "better" product and the A330-200/A340-300 will have an inferior product (although the A330s were recently refurbished, and the A340-300's were delivered with the A330 upgrades)

This is why / how / where Emirates is excellent - they don't seem to appear competitive - I agree. Yet somehow they are... they want 84 flights to AUS/NZ and they are agressively expanding in to Europe (5x daily to from LHR alone!!) Ex AUS/NZ GF seems to be the cheapest / most competitive but EK seems to be doing better mainly because of its frequencies and routes.

Cheers

Are there any plans to put the F suites in the 777 when they start flying to New York in the fall on the JFK-DXB route?
