Question Status Match on EK

Hi Guys,

I've been trying to get a status match on CX in the other forum- just want to prequalify that I'm not a status junkie, the status' I have are all because of my office trips...I travel at short notice and always in F and J, and therefore travel on a Lot of airlines.

I'm a BA Gold & Prem (2 sep cards), AF Plat, BD Gold, UA Premex, AA Plat, VS Gold and would really like a match to gold Skywards. I'm going to be travelling to DXB alot in the next few months, and would really like the benefits of gold.

Do EK match? And if so - where / who do I call?

Thanks alot,

Milesm88

Sorry for the question - How can you recive a BAEC Premier status? Is this corporate program or personal invitation (much more flights by BA)?

Thanks a lot.

BA Premier status is awarded on the basis of either

a) "Personal Status" i.e Who you are..
b) Over 4mGBP spending with BA p.a
c) If you control a multi-million dollar travel budget (CEO,CFO)etc.

b) and c) apply to myself.

Kind regards,

M

Right, what would be the advantage if traveling in B/F? Grrr...

Another question: Does any airline give you status match? If yes, which airlien and whom do you have to write?

Hi,

Here, are the FF benefits for EK Skywards members. Clauses in Bold are for Gold Members only, Clauses in Italics are for Silver and Gold Members only

Earning Skywards Miles
Redeeming Skywards Miles
Membership tiers
Gold Desk
Guaranteed seat reservations on fully booked flights

Booking rewards online
Special member offers
Global partners
Personal preferences recorded
Waitlist priority
Travel co-ordinator
Service centres
e-gate Privileges
Lounge access
Priority Check In
Excess baggage allowances

Check-in at self-service kiosk
Priority Baggage Delivery
Opening Doors (Some EK club thingy)

Alumnus (Some EK club thingy)
Online Benefits at skywards.com
Pre-assigned seating
Special meals
Chauffeur drive
Fast track
Dubai visa service
Stopover service

It's kind of misleading how EK states that a chauffeur drive is a benefit for its skywards customers

The only real benefits that you wouldn't use if travelling in F/J is the Priority Baggage delivery, lounge access and priority check in. The other things (eg extra miles) would be of use.

Some airline do status match, but I believe it is a once in a lifetime thing. ie you can only get a status match with an airline once.

Kinda interesting to read that you're not a 'status junkie' yet you seem to want status without flying...

Yes you wrote over at the CX forum of your intentions. Read HERE .

And you had indicated that you intended to fly all those routes on CX and now you want to see who will take the bait over at EK?

Have you ever earned your statuses the hard way? By flying?

I am actually glad that you cannot get status (easily) without flying, it makes being elite, all the more "elite"

Exclamation Same Reply As My Cx

Guy Betsy,

Thanks for the compliment, implying that I am a Status Junkie implies that I have time to waste doing such stupid things. In fact - I'm not. Maybe an explination is in order to set your mind at ease.

I was originally based between London and Sydney. LHR-BA/BD/VS status explained. Then, moved for a quick stint in New York JFK-AA/UA status explained. Now, I have been relocated to Hong Kong, and will be travelling alot between HKG-DXB-LHR. HKG-DXB is obviously operated by CX whereas DXB-LHR is EK. My AF FB status is still a mystery to me- mainly KUL-AMS' and HKG-CDG's on AF. The reason I posted in the CX forum and the EK forum was asking the forum , who have a lot of knowledge of these things to help me out and make my request easier.

I work for one of the largest investment banks in the world - all my travel on all my other status' has been flown. If you would like a copy of my frequent flyer statements, PM Me.

Don't flame without knowing your facts. Simple.

FYI - milesm88, this is not flaming. The TOS(Terms of Service) on FT is that you should not cross post the same post on various fourms. If you compose a diffferent post rather than cut and pasting one original post, then it is fine.

As you have not been on FT long before, I just thought that you should know about this 'rule', that's all.

Just a few questions/comments -->

Why do you want CX status, if you already have AA plat and BA status? DXB-LHR flights can be changed to BA too

Flaming = An insulting criticism or remark meant to incite anger, as on a computer network.

I don't believe Guy Betsy did this...

Will you be flying EK flights in F J or Y?

2RT's in F LHR-DXB will get you silver status

Cheers
