Thumbs down silver and gold bonuses warning

I have noticed that the silver and gold bonuses are not really worth it!
you only get the bonus on the economy miles not bus or first points as with all other airlines.

so a first syd-bkk as silver only yields 1711 bonus points
it should be 25% of double the miles
also
if you do your 25000 miles and the miles do not credit before they decide that you are silver you do NOT get the silver bonus on the following flights.
I have been emailing them constantly for months about my bonus when arriving in DXB and departing the next day.
no luck they dont speak english

Joke!!!
obviously when a silver member emails 4 times and gets NO REPLY one must think that they dont speak english or they would reply. @:-)
it was only after I sent a really nasty email that they even replied saying that I had recieved the bonus of "0" miles. how can anyone recieve 0 miles???
anyway iIdid NOT get any silver bonus for the DXB-SYD F leg.
I have now rewritten and still no reply.
when I called melbourne to complain she found all the emails and was certainly not peturbed that I had received no reply she just said that as the computer had not given me the miles for GLA-DXB on said date and I travelled the next day that it was NORMAL that the computer not give me the bonus.
I can live with not getting a few thousand bonus miles but whn buying a full first ticket and getting economy tier miles it is not good at all!!

Not sure what you mean by "it should"...

They choose to award 50% bonus miles in J and 100% bonus in F over Y and 25% bonus over Y as a silver member...

It isn't a mistake or error.

Maybe you could try calling the Manchester office to get it sorted.
In past experience I have really found them to be great at clearing up mix-ups and questions .....in a very `customer is king ` kind of way.

Obviously it would be more expensive for you than calling to Melbourne but it could be worth a shot.

You seem to ask lots of questions, but never seem give the courtesy of a response when someone answers.

To answer this question
QANTAS give status bonus on business and first class tickets
eg
mel-sin base points 3749
economy silver 3686
bus gold 1.25 4686 plus 50% =6561
first plat 1.50 5624 plus 100%= 9343
so as I have ust moved from this FF program to emirates I was unaware-as maybe at least one other FF in the world may be that Emirates only gives status bonus on base miles
My title WARNING was to actually warn other maybe new members that they cannot expect bonus miles. @:-)

Just not on the First or Business Class bonus.

Perhaps a more appropriate title would be "Caution: No Status Bonus Miles on First / Business Class Bonus Miles"

tinkybelle - I'd forgotten about QF. Most of my QF flights dont get this bonus because the minimum miles applies (and that certainly doesnt increase for status).

OTOH From what I can see, Skywards awards are a bit cheaper than QFF ones.
