Close to Silver

Gents,

I just did the calculation for the rest of the year and it looks like I am going to be short about 500 miles short of Silver. I will have a confirmed round-trip ticket from NYC to Dubai though in the second week of January. Will they bump me to Silver even if I am short by 500 at the end of December?

Regards,

William

They should. If they don't, phone and ask them to

Cheers

Really? They're that lenient? What if I fly to Rome and back, and while the tier miles are more than enough to tip me over, the return flight is in early January (as in the 3rd) will they consider that?

You might have to ask them quite nicely. However, EK is known to be very lenient to give passengers silver status is they are <1000 miles away from it as a goodwill gesture

Cheers

I can confirm that.
I personally know two people (one is immediate family) who have both been upgraded to the next level.
One was upgraded to silver and the other one to gold. Both have been <1000 miles short for the next level.
It was done automatically without them asking for it.

( puts on Mr Grumpy face)

H'm, they didn't do it for me, either at the silver or gold level. Otherwise, I think they do try to be nice.

If you are just a couple of miles short, you should give them a call. Maybe they are going to do it anyways.
Its worth a try.

Definately call them. They are very busy giving status to people who are a "few" miles short, and upgrading skywards blue members... so they might have overlooked you
