Does Emirates comp status?

I will be relocating to Khartoum, Sudan from Japan and as such my flying patterns will change. I am currently KLM Plat Elite (earned with bum on seat) but I would like to move my business to Emirates as they have much better flight times out of Khartoum than Kenya Airways. Has anyone ever been comped? I have contacted EK via their website but no answer. If someone can give me a lead I would appreciate it very much.

It is very hard to have to deal with beginning all over again.

Regards,

Dave - Nagoya, Japan.

Called Skywards Manchester Service Centre a month ago and asked them whether they would comp status. The answser was No . Anyway flew Srilankan a lot last two weeks and managed to move to Silver.

Davistev, good thing about Skywards is that they credit missing miles instantly unlike KLM . I noticed this morning that the miles for my outbound flight from LHR to CMB had not been credited. Called the Service Centre and the lady looked into system and credited the miles seconds later ^ ^ .

EK never got back to me about comping status so I went ahead and booked 3 round trips from Khartoum to Canada on Kenya Airways / Air France.

I think I will stay with the Kenya Airways / KLM / Air France partnership as they at least acknowledge my existence. Plus, I can fly from Sudan to Capetown for 45K roundtrip in Business Class on KQ - a bargain by any standard. Plus nice one way economy awards for only 12,500 miles with open availability throughout Africa. It seems that KQ releases 4 economy and 2 business class seats on all intra -African routes ^ for award redemption.

I have one ticket on Emirates coming up in Economy and from what I hear, their economy product is very poor on the 777 (10 abreast). Too bad EK - my business stays with KLM partnership.
