Hi ill be flying durban to dxb shortly, I haven't flown om ek for quite sometime.

Its a night flight and have to get good rest
seems I have to pay for seat selection.
window seat either
24 A or K
37K
Or 46 A the only twin seat.
im thinking if its a light load there maybe empty seats near back.
It will be in 2 weekls time. So off peak??

if you have to pay for a seat selection, then you would only have chosen the Special Fare. Consider paying for a seat to upgrading your ticket to saver. If you can access the seat map, under manage my booking youll be able to see roughly how many seats are available at the moment.

Youll get better advice if you give us the actual date. We can then check the availability and derive an idea about how busy the flight might be.
Its peak holiday season in South Africa at the moment and although it should be quieter in 2 weeks time, there will probably still be quite a bit of northbound travel.

Have you looked that flight up on Manage My Booking, you just need the 6 character booking code and your surname and it will show you the itinerary including the booking class.
The seats you mention are exit row seats which everyone has to pay for, no matter the booking class (it might be that they are free for Platinum members but even that I am not sure of). 46A is indeed a free window twin seat (as are 48 and 49K). Those have no extra legroom so the only advantage is that you only have (potentially) step over one extra person and as they are in the back it is debatable if that is worth the extra money.
That flight is currently very open for bookings (all economy fares are still for sale), so there may eventually be triple or even quadruple seats free when you get on the plane and you can travel poor mans business class).
Of course lots can change in 2 weeks, but if it was me (and my money) I would not yet pay to reserve an expensive exit row seat.

Free seat allocation is only tomorrow, so only then can one see what options for triple / quadruple seats are. At the moment there is plenty, but that means nothing really.. Just sit at the computer at 19:10 tomorrow and hope for the best. Of course even then what you think will be open may be taken by the time you get on board. Tip: try find a middle block of 4 towards the back. And you can still change your seats (but I think only in the app) until an hour before departure which is when the flight closes.

Yes im.wanting ideally 3 seats to my self at least can look out window, but cant fully lay down compared to 4 in a row.
